The NFL playoff field has been winnowed down to its version of a final four, with the Chiefs, Patriots, Rams and Saints ready to compete for Super Bowl LIII berths during Sunday’s conference championship games.
USA TODAY Sports’ panel of experts is split on the AFC title game, while only Lorenzo Reyes is taking the Rams on the NFC side. That means no one foresees a Rams-Patriots matchup for Super Sunday.
From the “who’s hot, who’s not?” perspective, might be best to give added weight to USA TODAY rookie and playoff predicting MVP Jori Epstein, who projects as a Mahomes-esque superstar. Meanwhile, longtime picks GOAT Nate Davis is cast as the fading star — “everyone thinks I suck” — a la Tom Brady.

Lots of all underdogs had hopes of interrupting the 2019 playoff picture, but the top two seeds in each conference endured the divisional round.
