Outdoor linebacker T.J. Watt was called to the 2019 Pro Bowl, taking the position of Houston Texans out linebacker Jadeveon Clowney, who’ll miss the match due to an injury.
He had been the only NFL player to complete the 2018 regular year with 65 total tackles (68), 10 sacks (13) and five defensive forced fumbles (6).
Watt has recorded 20 sacks within the previous two seasons, the most ever by a Steelers in their first two seasons in the NFL — and also the fourth-most among all NFL linebackers out of 2017-18.
“He is a fantastic player,” said Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan. “Physical. He is athletic. You see him coverage, he does a wonderful job in policy having the ability to conduct but is also a high effort man. Does a fantastic job in pass rush and against the run”
Initially came from the Cleveland Browns from the season-opener. Watt was a dominant force, completing the match with three sacks, a single-game career high, and 11 tackles. Watt also blocked Zane Gonzalez’s 43-yard field goal attempt with only seconds to perform.
“When he isn’t making plays, that’s because somebody is keying on him and someone else is opening an opportunity for this,” said Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. “You need to look closely at where he is, but it doesn’t mean lose sight of everyone else.”
Watt reproduced the honour against the Kansas City Chiefs when he had three sacks, eight tackles and a forced fumble, which immediately led to a Steelers touchdown when L.J. Fort recovered it at the end zone.
“He is a fantastic player,” said Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. “He had been in my draft course, had a fantastic season this past year and he then began of the season nicely “
